Structure of the Pharmacode
Design and possible applications in pharmaceutical secondary packagingThe Pharmacode is a barcode which is mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry for the control of packaging materials. The Pharmacode consists of thin and thick code lines.
It can be read on both sides and gives a different result in each case. The Pharmacode is read by means of a laser scanner or a camera.
The minimum barcode is 2 bars (number 3) and the maximum is 16 (number 131'070).
Various application possibilities:
- Folding boxes: on folding box flap
- Instruction leaflet: The reverse side of the code should not be printed, as very thin paper is usually used
- Labels
- Tubes: The Pharmacode is used on tubes simultaneously to align the tube
- Foils
